ABOUT THOMAS


London-born tenor Thomas Elwin has established a strong reputation across Europe for his warm lyric voice, expressive musicianship, and compelling stage presence. His recent operatic roles include Alfredo (La Traviata), Rodolfo (La Bohème), Gennaro (Lucrezia Borgia), and Borsa (Rigoletto), with appearances for companies such as English Touring Opera, ENO, Opera North, and Chelsea Opera Group.

On the concert platform, Thomas’s recent performances including The Dream of Gerontius, Mahler’s Symphony No. 8, and Verdi’s Requiem, alongside engagements with the BBC Concert Orchestra and the Hallé. In 2025, he released his debut album Le vase brisé on Voces8 Records, with future recordings including Strauss songs and Britten’s Abraham and Isaac.

Previous career highlights include Lensky (Eugene Onegin) at Opera Holland Park, Oronte (Alcina) at Glyndebourne, and roles with Oper Köln, and Oper Stuttgart where Thomas was a young artist. A former chorister at St Paul’s Cathedral, he later studied at Royal Holloway, co-founded VOCES8, and trained at the Royal Academy of Music and Solti Accademia.
